Unbelievably, Joe Hart is still a Manchester City player.

The 31-year-old was once considered one of the best goalkeepers in world football, but a catalogue of errors in recent years has seen his stock fall dramatically.

Pep Guardiola immediately cast him aside after becoming Man City manager, signing Claudio Bravo to replace him.

As a result, Hart has spent two unsuccessful seasons at Torino and West Ham.

The Shrewsbury born player currently finds himself at Man City as third choice goalkeeper, behind Ederson and Bravo.

It is clear that Guardiola has no intention of keeping Hart, but why is he still at the club?

Well, that simply could be because no-one is willing to pay Manchester City's £5 million asking price for Hart.

And, according to the Times, Man City are now willing to lower that already small fee even further.

The report reads that City will be flexible on what they will now ask for to the extent that a free transfer cannot be ruled out.

That is some decline for Hart, and this latest development is actually pretty sad.

Once considered the best goalkeeper in English football a few years ago, Man City now seem willing to let him go for nothing.

That pretty much sums up his career at the moment.

Fair play to Man City, however, for doing their utmost to try and get Hart a transfer away from the club.

The report goes on to state that various clubs across the continent have been interested, including Fenerbahce, strengthening the idea that Hart could move abroad for his next club.

Hart, meanwhile, stated earlier this month that he is only interested in a permanent move away, so he might actually be happy with Man City's attempts to sell him.

“My job is to play football," he said. "I’ve got other people trying to sort other things out for me in terms of a direction. I’m supposed to be here so this is where I put all my energy and time.

“I need to go somewhere permanent, I think that’s obvious. I did what I did in the previous two seasons because I needed to play to be involved in the World Cup. And look where that got me.

“I’ve played at the highest level for a long time and done a lot of things in the game. I need to be an important player at that club and I think that can only happen with a permanent move.

“I enjoyed being at both clubs [on loan] for different reasons. It’s an experience. I’m always going to be a fighter. I put myself out there, I put myself in front of people. I try and do my best.

“That’s never going to change. I’ve got a year left and I’m not going on loan again because my situation has changed. I need to feel part of something."
