On this week's episode of RAW, as expected, Roman Reigns featured heavily.

The Big Dog opened the show in Miami and as you can probably guess, he received a fair bit of heat from the fans.

A DECENT PROMO

Despite the boos, Roman actually produced quite a good promo.

He began by paying respect to Bobby Lashley, the man he beat last week to become the number one contender to Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship.

After acknowledging his beaten opponent, Reigns then turned his attention to SummerSlam and The Beast, calling for him to join him in the ring.

LOSING HEAT?

Sadly, we didn't get to see the pair to face-to-face, because it was Brock's advocate, Paul Heyman, who came out to confront Reigns.

He revealed that Lesnar wouldn't be coming out from the back - which sparked a strong reaction from the crowd.

Roman was able to capitalise on that noise - and revealed that if Lesnar does show up to SummerSlam, he'll send him back to UFC as "Roman Reigns b---h".

The WWE Universe actually popped at that remark - and The Big Dog dropped the mic to end that segment.

WINNING OVER THE FANS?

Later on last night, Reigns was escorted off the premises at the request of Stephanie McMahon. Normally, fans would be cheering that decision, but this time, they actually sounded sympathetic.

Once Roman was off the show, Lesnar closed it by beating down Kurt Angle and sending a warning to Heyman.

Throughout that segment, the crowd could be heard chanting "we want Roman" - which suggests that finally, The Big Dog could be winning over a majority of WWE fans.

And it's about time too.

TURNING REIGNS HEEL

For years now, wrestling fans have been desperate to see Roman turn heel, but after the reaction he got last night, that now seems more unlikely than ever.

Interestingly, unlike most of the WWE Universe, one pro-wrestling legend, Chris Jericho, believes that the company have been right in keeping Reigns face for all this time.

That may be an unpopular opinion, but Y2J absolutely nails exactly why he agrees with Vince McMahon's decisions.

WHY JERICHO THINKS WWE ARE RIGHT

Drawing on his own experience of sharing the ring with Reigns, Jericho explained that it doesn't matter what reaction Roman gets, it just matters that the crowd are invested.

"I always had good matches with Roman Reigns," he told Jim Ross on The Jim Ross Report, per Wrestling Inc.

"But whichever side of the coin people want to land as far as how they're going to react, it's still going to be great. It's still going to be a blast.

"And people are still going to have an awesome time watching those matches, so like I said, I think people get to preoccupied with, 'oh, turn him heel!' Okay, turn him heel.

"Then what happens? Everybody that was booing him starts cheering him, so then he's a babyface anyways! What difference does it make?"

NAILING THE POINT

To be honest, whether you love or hate Reigns, it's hard to argue with Jericho's logic here.

The legend is right, it doesn't matter if fans boo or cheer Reigns - at least they're reacting and having fun.

And as he says, the moment WWE decide to turn Roman heel, then he'll get cheered like a babyface. So really, there's very little point in doing that.
