Lucas Digne was officially presented as an Everton player on Wednesday morning.

The French left-back signed a five-year deal at Goodison Park after an £18m fee was agreed with Barcelona.

Digne, 25, has previously played for PSG and Roma and wants to help bring attractive football back to Everton.

"Everton is a big club with a great history. I want to play games, win games and excite the fans with the quality of our football," Digne said.

"I want to show my best football here and discover the best league in the world. Everybody loves the Premier League. I am loving the fact I am coming here.

"I am not afraid, I am excited. For me, it is a new challenge to discover a country, a league, people and a great club such as Everton. It is fabulous."

That's exactly what Everton fans will want to hear - but their Merseyside rivals have found a way to mock them over their latest signing.

Eagle-eyed Liverpool fans have spotted something about Lucas Digne which they're all finding very funny.

The La Liga winner has a tattoo across his chest which reads: "I Never Walk Alone."

Could it just be a coincidence that Liverpool's club slogan is "You'll Never Walk Alone"?

Famously, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was a boyhood Blue and he was forced to deny having an Everton tattoo on his arm.

You can bet that Liverpool fans will remind Digne of his tattoo when Liverpool meet Everton at Anfield on December 1.

Digne is Marco Silva's second major signing this summer following the arrival of Brazilian Richarlison from Watford.

“It is important to say that he [Digne] is a player who, from the first moment he was contacted, showed enormous desire to play at Everton,” Silva said.

“He is a high-quality player, aggressive, with good technical ability and in the past five seasons he has played two years at Paris St-Germain, one in Roma and for the past two seasons he has demonstrated his clear quality in Barcelona.

“Lucas is a player who will add competitiveness in a position where we only had Leighton Baines last season and he is accustomed to winning."
