Loris Karius' feelings towards Liverpool signing Alisson are well known, but it's a wonder how Simon Mignolet really feels about the situation.

He's now the club's third-choice goalkeeper and heading into the 2018/19 season there are no guarantees of playing time.

Games in cup competitions like the FA Cup and EFL Cup will be fought for between the Belgian and Karius, who is thought to be Liverpool's No.2.

Having two unhappy goalkeepers is far from ideal for manager Jurgen Klopp but he completely understands why they're frustrated.

"We had the opportunity to bring in one of the best goalkeepers in the world," Klopp said last month.

"Karius and Mignolet are both outstanding goalkeepers but we have outstanding midfielders and strikers and defenders but we still brought in [players] anyway to help us make the next step.

"That is the world of football. Of course, can Loris be happy or Simon be 100 per cent happy about the situation? I don't think so. How can people be happy like that? But it is part of life."

THE END OF MIGNOLET

Despite his unhappiness at being displaced as number one, it's claimed Karius will stay at Liverpool as second choice.

As for Mignolet, he's been linked with a move away from Merseyside amid interest from Besiktas and, apparently, Barcelona.

Leaving would undoubtedly be in his best interest but according to the Liverpool Echo, his situation has just got even worse.

Rather embarrassingly, Liverpool are struggling to ship Mignolet because no one is prepared to pay £12m for him.

From being linked with Barcelona last month to £12m now being too much, that just about sums up the state of the 30-year-old's career right now.

It says a lot about his reputation that even Danny Ward, who only ever made three senior appearances for Liverpool, managed to sell for £12.5m.

A loan move might be Mignolet's only option as a result. Besiktas are looking to strike a deal but it remains to be seen whether Klopp will be happy with a short-term solution.
