Cardiff have agreed a deal with Chris Riggott and will complete his capture provided the defender passes a strict medical.
The 30-year-old has been training with the Bluebirds for the past couple of weeks and is a free agent following his release from Middlesbrough. But his short time at the Cardiff City Stadium has been hampered by injury and manager Dave Jones wants to make sure his fitness is 100% up to scratch before completing the move.
Jones said: "Everything's been agreed on the financial side, we're just crossing the t's and dotting the i's and just making sure."
He added: "Chris had an injury last year that has kept him out for a while, so we just want to make sure when we're bringing players in that in they are up to the standard sticking within the fitness regime that we have here.
"Hopefully that will all be concluded over the next few days."
