He is also a two-time Intercontinental Champion.Kane also holds the record for cumulative Royal Rumble eliminations at 44.Kane, who is a longtime supporter of libertarian political causes, announced his intention to run for the office of mayor of Knox County, Tennessee in 2017. Since then, his time on WWE television has been reduced.If you recall, WWE wrote Kane of off TV after being attacked by Braun Strowman back in January on Raw. At the time, there were rumblings that he could be battling through an injury. He was then pulled from TV but made his return last month to team up with Daniel Bryan to take on Luke Harper and Erick Rowan for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.WWE originally announced in an article on their official website that Kane suffered a broken ankle at the hands of The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper & Rowan) attack at the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
It was then revealed that Kane suffered an injury to his Achille's tendon on the go-home episode of SmackDown Live for Extreme Rules last week. Thus, the reason he was seen earlier in the day at Extreme Rules with a boot on his ankle as well as at a campaign function last week.Kane is not expected back on WWE TV anytime soon due to this injury and getting ready for the final run to become the Mayor of Knox County, TN.Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, was declared the winner of the Knox County primary for mayor earlier this year. On Thursday night, citizens of the country decided by voting who they want to win the mayoral race and elected Kane as the Mayor of the county in Tennessee.He pulled in 67% of the vote in front of Democrat Linda Haney by a 66.56% to 33.44% margin. When all was said and done 22,595 citizens cast their vote for Kane."In my primary, I only won by 23 votes in that one, so every vote really does count and I want to make sure I get as many as I possibly can," Jacobs told WATE 6. "Since May, we've been knocking on doors, continuing that. We've also continued the process of meeting with department heads, school board, county commissioners, that kind of thing."The Undertaker has since commented on Mayor Kay being crowned by writing the following on his official Instagram account as well as other superstars reacting to the news:
