Lucas Digne has caused quite a stir on Merseyside after completing his move from Barcelona to Everton.Digne has arrived at Goodison Park in a £18 million transfer and is set to do battle with Leighton Baines for the left-back slot. However, it was his medical that generated plenty of interest - especially from Liverpool fans.Eagle-eyed supporters spotted Digne has a large ‘I Never Walk Alone’ tattoo across his chest. Is he secretly a Liverpool fan?Well, Digne certainly refuted those claims on Friday and attempted to have a dig at his new rivals by claiming he rejected them on two occasions earlier in his career."It's not about football, when I was 3 or 4 years old on my first day of school my parents gave me a necklace with these words and after I got them tattoed," Digne told the Liverpool Echo.

"But maybe it's because the Liverpool fans are angry that I said two times 'no' to Liverpool. I'm blue."

LIVERPOOL FANS HAVE DISCOVERED A COMEBACK

What can Liverpool fans say back to that?

Well, it seems they have discovered the perfect reply.

A Liverpool news Twitter account - Anfield HQ - have found a Sky Sports article with the headline: “Dundee United’s Andrew Robertson set to reject Everton and Swansea.”

The article was written in 2014 and suggests that current Liverpool left-back Robertson rejected Everton whilst at Dundee United.

Three years later, Robertson became a Liverpool player after signing from Hull City and has firmly established himself as a cult hero at Anfield.

Robertson made that left-back slot his own at Liverpool last season and produced some excellent performances as Jurgen Klopp’s side reached the Champions League final.

And Liverpool fans will love him even more after discovering that he rejected Everton four years ago - allowing them to immediately hit back at Digne’s claim.
