If there has been one talking point between Arsenal fans during pre-season, it's about who should be their captain come the start of the Premier League season.Unai Emery stated earlier in the summer that he would like five captains in his team, and that experienced defender Laurent Koscielny would be one of them.An achilles injury picked up in May though against Atletico Madrid has put the 32-year-old on the shelf until at least December, so Emery needs to find another starter to pick up the mantle.Aaron Ramsey was one man to pick up the armband last season during Koscielny and Mertesacker's absences, and skippered the team in pre-season.Mesut Ozil was also given the task of leading Arsenal for the first time in their 4-1 drubbing of Paris Saint-Germain following his World Cup disappointment with Germany and subsequent international retirement, but another name has been given a chance to prove his worth. That man is Granit Xhaka, who took leadership in their 2-0 win over Lazio in Stockholm this evening, where Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang added to his pre-season tally in the second half. The first goal was scored by promising youngster Reiss Nelson, who converted the rebound from Alex Iwobi's shot that hit the post.Whilst Nelson wheeled off to celebrate, Xhaka congratuled his team-mate, but that's seemingly not all he did.The Swiss international took the time to explain to Nelson where he could tactically improve during the game despite netting, barking out instructions to the teenager and the rest of the side.

It was something that the Arsenal fans were delighted to see, particularly as Xhaka had been a scapegoat to some after his expensive move from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016.

And supporters took to Twitter to give their thoughts on Xhaka leading by example.

Xhaka isn't guaranteed a starting place due to the emergence of Matteo Guendouzi, but if Emery does select the 25-year-old against Manchester City, there's every chance that we could see him leading the likes of Ozil and Aubameyang to the pitch.
