Jose Mourinho has very little time left to work some transfer magic.

The transfer window closes on August 9, with Manchester United making just one marquee signing so far in Brazilian midfielder Fred.

Their only other signing have been 19-year-old right-back Diogo Dalot and third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant.

To say it's led to frustration from Mourinho would be an understatement, with the manager voicing his discontent at the situation on numerous occasions.

It was reported late Saturday evening by the Mirror that some of Mourinho's prayers would be answered by the impending arrival of Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian centre-back could arrive as early as Monday after Spurs chairman Daniel Levy decided to cash in - the deal could be worth around £60m.

That deal would add some much needed experience and leadership to Mourinho's backline.

Further forward, the boss is knowingly keen on a new, experienced winger.

Ivan Perisic was the man he wanted last summer and Chelsea's Willian has been the main target this time around.

The Blues have already rejected three sizeable bids from Barcelona already, but Maurizio Sarri may be tempted to part ways with him after he hears United's latest proposal.

The Mirror report that Mourinho is prepared to offer Anthony Martial in exchange for Willian this summer.

Both players are valued by their clubs at £75m.

Mourinho has lost all patience with Martial after he left United's pre-season tour to be in Paris for the birth of his child - he was reportedly fined £180,000.

Despite the fact the Frenchman is still only 22 and Willian is approaching 30, the deal may be the best thing for both clubs.

Mourinho gets his experienced right winger and can focus more on handing game time to the likes of Marcus Rashford and Andreas Pereira.

As for Chelsea, they get a potential world beater and offload a player who's clearly not completely happy at Stamford Bridge.
