It’s been a busy summer for Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have already played eight friendlies and still have their ninth and final pre-season match against Torino at Anfield to play.

And it’s gone pretty well so far for the Reds.

Included in that have been wins over Manchester City (2-1), Manchester United (4-1) and Napoli (5-0) which have set Liverpool up perfectly for the new campaign.

And their work in the transfer market has been just as impressive.

Fabinho, Alisson and Xherdan Shaqiri have all agreed to join the Anfield club, with Naby Keita finally becoming a Liverpool player 12 months after the club struck a deal with RB Leipzig.

And it’s the arrival of Keita that could see Liverpool sustain a genuine title challenge this season.

The 23-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga in the previous two seasons and will bring dynamism to Liverpool’s midfield.

But what is he like to play against?

Well, Peter Crouch revealed exactly what he thought of Keita after facing him in a friendly 12 months ago with Stoke.

“It’s going to be interesting watching Naby Keita in midfield,” Crouch wrote in the Daily Mail.

“Stoke played RB Leipzig in a friendly this time last year. We won 2-1 but I came away thinking what a good player he was, so fast and dynamic. Liverpool needed something extra in midfield and he will give it to them.”

Keita has struggled with a neck injury for part of pre-season but played in Liverpool’s 5-0 victory against Napoli on Saturday evening.

The Guinean impressed and will compete for a slot in Klopp’s three-man midfield with the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wjnaldum, Adam Lallana and James Milner this coming season.
