Despite spending over £160m on four new players this summer, Jurgen Klopp suggested over the weekend that further signings may be possible at Liverpool.

Following the 5-0 win over Napoli in Dublin, the German joked that he didn't want to ruin deadline day for fans by not trying to sign anyone else.

"We will see what happens, he said. "I cannot kill your D-day (deadline day) show, people sit there in front of the television all day waiting."

Klopp also hinted that he will need to sell some of Liverpool's deadwood before the 5pm deadline on August 9.

"If any player from my team is available, then in every other situation in my life as a manager I would have bought all of them, to be honest," he added.

"They are all fantastic boys, they are able to play fantastic football. In this moment, the squad would be too big, that’s true.

"But it's not that that means for us that we give them for free or something like that, Liverpool is strong enough to keep all these players and then we deal with that."

KLOPP NOT FINISHED YET

One regret Klopp will have from this summer is not signing Nabil Fekir, who came desperately close to joining Liverpool in a £53m move from Lyon.

Liverpool pulled the plug at the last minute when concerns were raised about Fekir's long-standing knee problem.

Since then reports have continued to link the Reds and the Frenchman, although nothing substantial has materialised.

Well, another rumour has now emerged from French source L'Equipe and it's one that Liverpool fans ought to pay attention to.

Lyon have apparently decided that £60m would be enough to sign Fekir this summer, even if they want him to sign a new contract.

But any hopes of Liverpool making a last-minute bid have been dashed as L'Equipe add that they are unwilling to renew their interest in the France international.

That opens the door to Chelsea who, according to France Football, are set to make a fresh move following their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield.

How Liverpool might end up regretting not going back in for Fekir.
