There’s just two days remaining for Premier League clubs to get any last-minute business done before their transfer window slams shut - and it’s going to be busy.

The likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Spurs will all be looking to complete at least one deal before the end of the window.

And for Chelsea, it’s set to be a frantic 48 hours or so.

Thibaut Courtois looks desperate to leave the club meaning Maurizio Sarri could well be on the lookout for a replacement.

Following on from their 2-0 Community Shield defeat to Manchester City - where they were completely outplayed - the new boss may well be making further additions.

In fact, reports suggest they may have already done just that.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, they’ve agreed to loan Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic.

Reports have claimed that the Croatian refused to train at Madrid this week as he attempts to force a move away from the club for more regular first-team football.

And Marca claim that he will join the Stamford Bridge club on loan with an announcement “in the next few hours.”

LOPETEGUI REACTS TO KOVACIC REPORTS

Or will he?

That’s because Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui has reacted to reports that Kovacic has missed training and is set to leave the club - and he strongly denied it.

Lopetegui insists that Kovacic has trained as usual and he, alongside compatriot Luka Modric, will enjoy playing at the Bernabeu this season.

“You speak to me of problems with Kovacic, but this is the first I’ve heard of it,” the Spaniard said.

“He has trained regularly with his team-mates and there have been no problems with him. He’s someone I hold in particular esteem, and who I am happy to have in the team.

"I believe that Modric and Kovacic are going to be very happy to play at Real Madrid."

So, any Chelsea fans getting excited at the prospect of a midfield three consisting of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic this season might just be getting a little bit carried away.
