One of the more shocking moves of the NBA offseason this summer was the Golden State Warriors signing DeMarcus Cousins to a one-year deal.

Cousins signed a one-year, $5.3 million contract with the Warriors after receiving no long-term offers from any other teams in the NBA.

The move caught many people out as they thought Boogie would hold out in order to sign a long-term deal with a team for a lot of money, especially following his Achilles injury.

Nevertheless, Golden State is excited to have Cousins on their team despite the fact they won't be able to use him until later on in the season as he is still recovering from his injury.

Speaking to The Associated Press, via USA Today, Steph Curry has said he's looking forward to having the center on the court because of the versatility which he can bring for the team.

Curry said: "It's interesting because nobody going into free agency thought about DeMarcus as an option, then all of a sudden he found his way onto our team. So for us to have a new dynamic, a new look, whenever he's fully healthy it should be amazing. I think we got better.

"Obviously we lost some pieces that were very vital to us winning a championship but you've got to evolve, you've got to find different things to focus on as you're trying to repeat, so it should be exciting."

The Warriors have won back-to-back NBA Championships over the past two years, and when he returns later on in the season, Cousins will put the team in a very good position to win a third so long as they do their bit while he is on the sidelines.

Not only would another title benefit Golden State, but it would also benefit Boogie too, as it could help him land a lucrative contract next summer when he becomes a free agent once more upon the expiration of his current deal.

Cousins averaged 25.2 points and had career highs with 12.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in the 2017-18 season in New Orleans.
