When LeBron James made the decision to join the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency, it was assumed that he has some non-basketball interests that he’d like to explore further.

Since he owns a film company, made cameos in a couple feature movies and is going to play a major role in the upcoming Space Jam 2, James’ role in Hollywood will most likely grow in the near future.

Off the screen, he has produced numerous shows and series, most notably including “The Wall” on NBC.

On Monday, it was announced that James will produce a Showtime documentary series called “Shut Up and Dribble”.

But, his plans aren’t limited there.

LeBron in Hollywood

One day later, CBS announced that James would be producing a show for them as well. It will be called “Million Dollar Mile”.

“In Million Dollar Mile, everyday athletes' physical and mental toughness will be tested like never before—with an opportunity to change their lives forever. … After shutting down the streets of a major city, the Million Dollar Mile course goes up! At one end is the contestant, and at the other, a whopping $1,000,000. … Standing in their way? The most challenging course ever designed and a group of elite athletes with one mission: stop the contestants from winning the money at all costs,” the CBS press release revealed.

Therefore, the show will have a massive million-dollar prize to the ultimate winner.

"LeBron represents the epitome of strength, vision and determination—all skills one will need to complete this one-of-a-kind course where every runner has a chance to win $1,000,000," said Sharon Vuong, Senior Vice President, Alternative, CBS Entertainment.

"LeBron pushes the limits of what's possible on and off the court. He sets the bar very high, and we want to bring that spirit to this show," said Rich Meehan, CEO of Fly on the Wall Entertainment. "Our goal is to create something you've never seen before. From a genre-busting concept to cutting-edge challenges to a style like no other, Million Dollar Mile will push the limits of what's possible in the unscripted genre."

With numerous projects on the way, it seems as though LeBron will look to impact the entertainment industry on an even grander scale. As he has shown so far in his career, he's a multi-talented individual who has impacted the entire sports world due to his unbelievable play on the court. Now, it appears as though his focus isn't solely limited to basketball.
