The Christmas Day game in the NBA has always been a great part of the calendar as this is when we usually get some of the biggest games of the year.

Sometimes these matchups end up being the Western Conference Finals or/and Eastern Conference Finals game later on in the season in the playoffs, and sometimes even the NBA Finals itself.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, this year is going to be no different, as we have some incredible matchups to watch while tucking into our Christmas dinner later this year.

Stein has reported that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will face Steph Curry and Kevin Durant in the defending champions Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day at the Oracle Arena.

This should be an incredible matchup after we've seen LeBron face off against the Warriors in each of the past four NBA Finals. It could also end up being the Western Conference Finals matchup later on in the season.

Also on Christmas Day, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and the Philadelphia 76ers will visit Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden in Boston.

This will be a rematch of their Eastern Conference semifinals series, which the Celtics won in five games. This also could be a sign of whats to come later on in the playoffs in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Elsewhere, the Utah Jazz will host the Portland Trail Blazers in another game, the New York Knicks will host the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Oklahoma City Thunder will visit the Houston Rockets, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes and Tim MacMahon.

The Trail Blazers haven't competed on Christmas since 2010, while Utah has been held out since 1997.

This will be the first time since 1977 that the Bucks will play on the holiday, but it is unclear if Kristaps Porzingis will be available for the Knicks in this game, as he is currently rehabbing a torn ACL.

The Rockets-Thunder matchup is a rematch from last year. Oklahoma City won at Chesapeake Energy Arena by five points on that night. Carmelo Anthony was playing for the Thunder on that night, but he could be playing for Houston this year if reports are to be believed.
