England fans are still in a buoyant mood about the national team after their brilliant World Cup campaign in Russia.

The Three Lions reached the semi-final stage and made the nation proud for the first time since 1996.

Gareth Southgate's young side defied all the odds and there is a whole host of exciting teenage talents coming through which could improve the side in future tournaments.

Phil Foden, Mason Mount, Jadon Sancho and Curtis Jones are just a few teenage names being linked with huge futures both domestically and internationally.

And back in 2015, the Telegraph named what they thought was the most exciting teenage XI in English football.

They were bang on with some, but a few have struggled to live up to the hype so far.

GK - FREDDIE WOODMAN

The Newcastle goalkeeper has struggled to break into the first-team, having loan spells at Hartlepool, Crawley, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.

DEF - JOE GOMEZ

Already a full England International and a key member of Liverpool's squad, the Telegraph were bang on with this one. The former Charlton man will only get better as well.

DEF - REECE OXFORD

He marked Mesut Ozil out of the game on his West Ham debut, but things have gone downhill ever since. Has still only made 21 senior appearances during his career after two loan spells at Borussia Monchengladbach.

DEF - BRENDAN GALLOWAY

He's made a handful of appearances for Everton, but is pretty far away from the first team right now. His loan spell at Sunderland in 2017/18 did little to help his progression.

DEF - BEN CHILWELL

Another great shout from the Telegraph. Has been steadily improving over the last few years and goes into the 2018/19 season as Leicester's first-choice left-back ahead of Christian Fuchs.

MID - LEWIS COOK

The good ones keep on coming. Cook is now an established Premier League starter for Bournemouth and has been capped by England at senior level.

MID - RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK

One of those to actually make Southgate's England squad for Russia. Still yet to find consistent minutes at Chelsea and could go on loan to Crystal Palace again for 2018/19.

MID - DELE ALLI

Far and away the biggest success in this XI. One of the top young players in the world and already an established Premier League superstar.

FWD - PATRICK ROBERTS

Sadly for Roberts, he's part of a Manchester City squad that is almost impossible to break into. Nevertheless, he's looked brilliant when on loan at Celtic.

FWD - SHEYI OJO

So much was expected of the winger at Liverpool, but he hasn't had it all his own way. Impressed on-loan at Fulham in 2017/18, but can't compete with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

FWD - DEMARAI GRAY

The upcoming season could be huge for Gary. Has shown glimpses of quality since moving to Leicester and Riyad Mahrez's exit hands him the chance to take centre stage.
