Steven Gerrard's first Scottish Premier League fixture as Rangers manager got off to a very controversial start.Just 12 minutes into the game away at rivals Aberdeen, striker Alfredo Morelos was shown a straight red card.At first, even the commentators were unaware what had gone on, but replays showed the linesman raised his flag after the Colombian appeared to kick out after being barged by the defender.Rangers went on to record a 1-1 draw and probably should have had all three points, with Ben Anderson scoring a late equaliser for the hosts.James Tavanier's penalty gave Gerrard's side the lead and they looked comfortable throughout.Morelos was set to miss two games for violent conduct, but it was announced on Wednesday morning that the Scottish FA had decided to rescind the red card.Gerrard said at his press conference: "I have spoken to Morelos and our conversations will always remain private, we have just heard that the red card has been rescinded."The whole incident has divided opinion among football fans.It seemed a clear kick out in anger, which by the letter of the law warrants a sending off. While it wasn't exactly the most violent, it certainly met the red card criteria. And this is a theory Scottish football pundit Chris Sutton has been pushing ever since the incident happened. So naturally, he had to react when he heard the latest news and his tweet caused a bit of a stir.

SUTTON'S TWEET

He seems to think there's something up with the Scottish FA's decision and a selection of fans - mostly rivals ones - seem to think he has a point.

However, some fans think the decision to overturn the decision was indeed the right one, citing the lack of maliciousness.

It's certainly a debatable one, which yet again raises the question about VAR. Would technology have made a different decision? Who knows.
