Thibaut Courtois’ potential move to Real Madrid has turned into one of the sagas of the summer.

After winning the Golden Glove at the World Cup in July, the Belgian stopper has been the subject of intense speculation linking him with a move away from Chelsea.

Courtois was a vital member of the title-winning side of 2015/16, but has seemingly had his head turned after the Blues fell out of the top four last time out, losing their spot in the UEFA Champions League.

As a result, a glut of Chelsea’s best players have been linked with moves away from the club with Courtois leading that contingent.

Chelsea have been determined to hold onto the 26-year-old but it is proving difficult considering the fact that his family live in Madrid.

However, new manager Maurizio Sarri is developing quite an exciting project and staying at Stamford Bridge might not be the worst thing.

If the likes of Eden Hazard, N’golo Kante and Courtois stick around, Chelsea could be one of the favourites to secure a coveted top-four spot.

It looks like Courtois has quite a difficult decision on his hands and very little time to make it.

As a result, we thought we should make it on his behalf, and asked fans to vote on whether Courtois should pack his bags and head for Spain, or stick around in London and help Chelsea fight their way back to the top table of European football.

The results were conclusive - a massive 77 per cent of fans believe the Belgium international should leave the Blues, with more than 36,000 people voting in total.

There you have it.

The majority of you think Courtois would be better served ditching the Blues for the Galacticos.

Madrid have been in the market for a keeper for years now and should they secure Courtois’ signature, it would represent a smart bit of business for the Spanish powerhouse.

Let’s just hope they’ve splashed the cash and invested in a slightly faster fax machine.
