Premier League predictions are starting to roll in as the new season approaches.

The 2018/19 campaign will get underway on Friday evening at Old Trafford when Manchester United lock horns with Leicester City and the competition will stretch on into May 2019.

It leaves football fans left to guess who will lift the title, which teams will qualify for the Champions League and the three sides destined for the Championship.

With 20 clubs and so many variables, though, it's almost impossible for supporters to nail their forecast and that's especially the case when naming the final table.

However, a far more predictable competition regards the chase for the Golden Boot.

The race for the Golden Boot

Crowing the Premier League's top goalscorer every season, the accolade is often hotly contested and only the elite strikers in the competition every get close to the trophy.

Thierry Henry holds the record with four Golden Boots during his time at Arsenal, with Harry Kane dominating the competition in recent years with victories in 2016 and 2017.

Sergio Aguero and Luis Suarez won the title in preceding years with Mohamed Salah entering the 2018-19 campaign as the reigning champion and with a record tally from last year.

Who Premier League fans are backing

That's all well and good, but are who are football fans back this time around?

Although there seems to be a select number of strikers in the running, putting your finger on the exact forward who will score the most is no easy task.

Nevertheless, fans have been giving it their best all summer long and Ladbrokes have revealed the pundits they've received this summer.

The results make for interesting reading and fans believe they'll be a new winner this season - check out the statistics below:

1. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang - 20.13%
2. Mohamed Salah - 18.20%
3. Harry Kane - 10.75%
4. Sergio Aguero - 8.73%
5. Romelu Lukaku - 5.15%
6. Sadio Mane - 4.14%
7. Alexandre Lacazette - 3.95%
8. Marko Arnautovic - 3.77%
9. Gabriel Jesus - 2.76%
10. Jamie Vardy - 2.02%

So, Premier League fans reckon the Golden Boot is going to the Emirates Stadium this season.

Jessica Bridges from Ladbrokes noted: "Money talks, and punters reckon it's Aubameyang's time to shine this season instead of Salah and Kane hogging the headlines."

Meanwhile, there are interestingly high appearances from the likes of Mane or Arnautovic who have outside chances of topping the goal-scoring charts.

In terms of Aubameyang, though, it would be a massive boost for Arsenal's hopes of making the top four if their main man can deliver in excess of 25 goals in 2018-19.

As for Kane, it's interesting that he falls down into third place below Salah, despite whispers that Liverpool's star man could stagnate during his second season.

Ultimately, however, only time will tell who proves the most lethal striker of them all this season.

It will be intriguing to see how these results look when May rolls around and Ladbrokes will be hoping Aubameyang misses out on the top prize.
