Preston boss Darren Ferguson claims to have agreed a loan deal for Barnsley striker Iain Hume.

Ferguson revealed the prospective swoop following his side's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

The Scot said: "I'm going to sign Iain Hume, subject to a medical, on Friday in a 93-day loan deal with a view to a permanent deal."

He added: "He's got good experience in the league, he can score goals in this league and can play right wing, left wing and up front. He's a good player."
