On August 18, one night before SummerSlam, NXT arrives in Brooklyn to kickstart the biggest party of the summer.TakeOver returns to New York for the fourth time, as the stars from WWE's developmental brand put on their show 24 hours before the main event.

BETTER TO WATCH?

Now, NXT only hold their TakeOver events ahead of the biggest main roster PPVs - the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Money in the Bank, SummerSlam and Survivor Series.

Arguably, with the exception of 'Mania, fans that watched both events on one of those weekends often come away thinking that NXT put on a better show.

There are usually only around five or six matches on the card - meaning only the best of the roster perform at TakeOver - and on top of that, fans are far more invested in the NXT storylines built.

Brooklyn: IV is expected to be no different. However, one of the biggest stars won't be making an appearance.

THE WORST TIMING

Former NXT Champion, Aleister Black, recently suffered a groin injury at a house show. He's already had surgery - but things aren't looking good for him ahead of TakeOver.

Rumours suggested that he wouldn't make it back in time for the show - and after events on this week's NXT, that seems all but confirmed.

Black will be a huge loss to the show, but WWE appears to be making the best of a bad situation, by creating a very interesting angle for him.

WHODUNIT?

The promotion tweeted an exclusive video, showing NXT GM William Regal finding Black laying unconscious in the parking lot after Wednesday's show went off the air.

Check out the clip below.

It actually looks like the angle is very well done. We don't just see the Dutchman laid out with no context - in fact, there are already a number of suspects who could have attacked him.

Johnny Gargano, who was part of that triple threat match against Black and Tommaso Ciampa made for TakeOver, can be seen walking into the building.

The Undisputed Era are filmed driving away in a rush, while Heavy Machinery takes photos of an unconscious Black.

It's like a modern day 'whodunit' - and when he does return from injury, the former NXT champ could be put into a feud with any of those suspects.
