Ever since LeBron James signed his four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, Lakers fans have eagerly been waiting to see him wear the famous purple and gold jersey.

The King will now be wearing his third different NBA jersey of his career after previously playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat.

Usually, fans get a chance to see every player who switched teams in the offseason don their new jersey for the first time when media day takes place. This year, it will happen next month.

For Lakers fans waiting to see LeBron in the purple and gold though, the wait is already over.

James provided his fans with a look of himself wearing the iconic colours of the Lakers on his Instagram story yesterday.

LeBron first gave fans a view of him from behind, walking away while wearing some LeBron 15s.

He then showed fans the front of the jersey while he was sitting down in front of the camera smiling. He was also wearing a different pair of shoes.

Upon closer look, it was revealed that LeBron was actually wearing a pair of Kobe 1 Protros, probably in an attempt to win over the Lakers fans that haven't accepted him as a member of their franchise yet.

It will take some getting used to, but Lakers fans will be hoping that seeing LeBron in the purple and gold becomes a glorious sight as he attempts to return the franchise to their former heights.

Lakers fans will get an opportunity to see LeBron on the court playing for them in the regular season for the first time on October 18 against the Portland Trail Blazers. His first home game as a Laker won't be until October 20 against the Houston Rockets.

James will return home to battle the Cavaliers for the first time as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers on November 21.
