At SummerSlam in 10 nights time, The Miz and Daniel Bryan will finally go at it one-on-one inside a WWE ring.

The pair have basically been feuding for almost two years - and their beef goes back to an iconic promo that Miz cut on Talking Smack in 2016.

THE INFAMOUS PROMO

Two days after SummerSlam that year, the then-Intercontinental champ wasn't even part of SmackDown Live - so demanded to be put on the panel show that followed it.

It was there he absolutely exploded in Bryan's face - and the former SD Live GM was actually left speechless by the whole thing.

In fact, rather than sitting there and taking Miz's real-life heat, he just walked off - adding to the whole situation.

The whole exchange has since become known as the best promo that "The Awesome One" has ever cut.

THE REAL STORY BEHIND IT

Now, almost two years to the day that it happened, he and DB will finally settle their differences in the ring, after one of the most invested, longest-running storylines in recent memory.

As we all know, The Miz was genuinely upset the night he let loose on Talking Smack - and now, ahead of his match with The Beard, he's explained the real story behind that iconic promo.

And it's epic.

"So I went up to one of the producers and I said, 'Put me on Talking Smack,'" Miz revealed in the new 'Creating The Mania' book, published two days ago.

"He goes, 'Why?' And I tell him, 'Because I'm going to vent out all of my frustrations with everything that I have at this moment, and I'm going to vent it out on the General Manager of Smackdown, Daniel Bryan.'"

BRYAN'S ADVICE

Interestingly, Miz goes on to reveal that he ran the idea past Bryan first - and the GM even offered him some advice.

"So I went up to Daniel and I said, 'Hey, man, I don't know how this is going to go, but I'm really upset,' and he actually gave me a couple of lines and told me maybe I could go here, here, here, and here," Miz continued.

"I told him, 'If you want to do anything, just go for it. I don't care.' I just wanted to make something captivating, something amazing. And when I went out there, I don't even remember anything, I just went blank.

"I don't remember saying any of the things I said. I was so angry and so mad and so frustrated, and I just let it all go. Sometimes when you're angry, you try to harness it, and you say to yourself, 'Calm down, calm down.'

"But in my head, I said '**** it, I don't care,' and I just started ripping into everything. And that's exactly what happened. I lost it. I literally lost it on Talking Smack. I even told Daniel, 'If I say things that go too far, go ahead and hit me.'"

THE BEST THING HE COULD HAVE DONE

"I didn't know if he was going to slap me, but instead he got up and walked away. And, honestly, him walking away was the biggest gift he could've given me. He gave me the power, and that's something a lot of people will not do.

"They'll stand up and get in your face so they don't look weak, but Daniel's just so smart and just so good, and we're such good foils for each other.

"When he got up and walked away, it gave me the opportunity to turn to the camera and just let loose on everyone."

Epic. It's really interesting to hear that DB was doing everything he could to help The Miz create a memorable moment.

When the pair finally meet inside the ring on August 19, don't bet against it stealing the whole show. SummerSlam can't come quick enough.
