Liverpool starlet David Amoo dropped a big hint to Roy Hodgson after his brace for the reserves against Wolves.

The 19-year-old striker scored twice in the first half of the Barclays Premier Reserve League Northern Group B match, and gave Liverpool fans a glimpse of the future alongside young Spaniard Suso.

An impressive win at Prenton Park showed that John McMahon's side had gained a clinical edge from their first two matches, and the Londoner could have grabbed a hat-trick for the Reds had he not shot wide late in the first period.

The visitors came back into the game in the second half, but couldn't break the Liverpool stranglehold as the game drifted away.

"He took his goals well. We always look for him to get into the box when the ball is out wide on the other wing," said Liverpool reserve team boss John McMahon.

"We've put more of an emphasis on him to get into positions to score goals and we are pleased with his contribution."

Amoo has been on the fringes of the first team at Liverpool for some time now, and will be keen for an Anfield chance under manager Roy Hodgson.

It's unkown if he'll be in the Liverpool squad for the match against Steaua Bucharest.
