Juve's social media boost

RESULT Sports released data on Friday, exactly one month after Ronaldo's £99m move, which details the effect he's had on Juve's social media channels.

There's been a remarkable growth on all of their platforms.

Plenty of football fans argue about who is the greatest footballer of all-time but few would argue that Ronaldo is the biggest 'brand' in the history of the sport.

Juventus realised that outlaying a club-record fee on a 33-year-old would have massive benefits away from the pitch.

They want to be regarded alongside the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United as the biggest football clubs globally.

Signing Ronaldo was certainly the right way to go about it.

He's expected to make his Juventus debut on Sunday afternoon in a pre-season friendly at the foot of the Alps.

Ronaldo will feature in the club’s traditional pre-season friendly between Juve’s first XI and a “B” team in Villar Perosa, a small town 40km west of Turin.

And he's in line to make his competitive debut when the Bianconeri visit Chievo in Serie A next Saturday.

Ronaldo is already proving a success off the pitch - but will he be a hit on the pitch too? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.
