Rusev has transformed himself several times since arriving in the WWE back in 2010. He's gone from being a Bulgarian Brute, to a Russophillic, anti-American, to being one of the most popular superstars on the WWE roster with his Rusev Day gimmick.

There's no denying that the two-time United States Champion is one of the most hard-working superstars in the company. He even moved to the United States from Bulgaria in the mid-2000's so he could train and chase his dream.

Rusev trained with Gangrel and Rikishi when he moved to the US at a wrestling school called Knokx Pro out in California. He did everything he could and sacrificed a lot just to train.

Multiple jobs and car sleeping

The former WWE star revealed that The Bulgarian Brute overcame many struggles in his journey to the WWE, stating how he had to hold down multiple jobs and sleeping in his car in order to attend wrestling school.

Gangrel said to Wrestling Inc: "Rusev has gone the furthest of and the most right now. He was a big Bulgarian guy from Bulgaria. He moved from Bulgaria to become a pro wrestler and that cat slept in his car, he didn't miss a class.

"He was delivering food, bouncing in a bar, and driving a taxi. But in-between all that, he was at wrestling school or sleeping in that parking lot so he wouldn't miss his next class. His dedication is proof that hard work pays off.

"I couldn't be happier for him that it paid off. Because you know, he wasn't the most athletic coming in or this or that, but he had heart and he had drive and he had passion.

"I'm so blessed that I was a part of his life and seeing his success now. I ride that wave. Deep down inside I'm like, 'yeah! I may not be [in WWE] anymore but a piece of me is.' That's so awesome."

WWE fans will be hoping that The Bulgarian Brute's commitment to wrestling is paid off in the near future with a run with the WWE Championship around his waist.

For now, Rusev will be competing at SummerSlam next weekend on the kickoff show in a mixed tag team match alongside his wife and fellow WWE superstar Lana against Andrade 'Cien' Almas and Zelina Vega.
