Maurizio Sarri’s spell at Chelsea has got off to an impressive start.

Ok, they were comfortably beaten by Manchester City during last week’s Community Shield but opened their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 win against Huddersfield.

A rare goal from N’Golo Kante set them on their way before Jorginho’s audacious penalty doubled their lead before half-time.

After Marcos Alonso was brought down in the box, the former Napoli midfielder did a little hop before slotting the ball past Ben Hamer.

But it wasn’t just his penalty - or his superb performance - that Chelsea fans loved about Jorginho.

That’s because some fans spotted his shinpads.

Ahead of kick-off, Chelsea posted an image of the shirts of both their debutants - Kepa and Jorginho.

Alongside Jorginho’s shirt were his shin pads.

What did they have on them? A dog.

We can only assume that the dog in question is belongs to Jorginho.

Either way, Chelsea fans found it adorable.

As for Jorginho’s penalty, Sarri knew it was coming.

The pair have worked together for three seasons at Napoli and, while many Premier League fans were surprised to see it, the manager admitted he’s always taken penalties like that.

“I don’t know,” Sarri said when asked what he thought about Jorginho’s penalty.

“He has always kicked the penalty like this.”

Premier League goalkeepers will soon cotton-on to Jorginho’s penalty technique, though.

Speaking on Jorginho’s overall ability, Sarri believes that his technical ability will stand him in good stead in the Premier League.

"Jorginho is not a physical player, he is a technical player," Sarri added. "The most important quality is that he is very quick in the mind. So he has the ability to move the ball very quickly."
