Roman Reigns is set to face Brock Lesnar in the main event of SummerSlam next weekend for the Universal Championship.
This will be the third time this year that The Big Dog and The Beast will face each other for the Universal title after previously facing each other at WrestleMania 34 and the Greatest Royal Rumble.
Many WWE fans don't like Lesnar, not because he's not a good wrestler, but due to his part-time status in the company, which has had an effect on the view of the Universal title.
They will be happier once The Beast potentially leaves WWE for UFC after SummerSlam as it will mean Monday Night Raw will have a full-time Universal Champion for the first time since Kevin Owens was champion.
Lesnar deserves more credit
When asked about his SummerSlam opponent by Newsweek, Reigns said that the Universal Champion doesn't get the credit he deserves because he's in amazing shape and is a smart businessman.
He said: “He doesn’t get credit. He did years ago; but for his age, to be in the back of his athletic career it’s very impressive to see the shape he maintains, the explosive power that he holds. That takes a lot.
"He’s a smart businessman in what he does and he’s turned ‘Brock Lesnar’ into a complete character now in the past month or so.
"It’s pretty neat to see how he can pinball between UFC and WWE and still have that power. It’s insane.”
Only a few superstars in the WWE today can come close to the power which Lesnar can exert on his opponents inside the ring.
However, fans will only remember The Beast for what he has been recently in the company - a part-time champion. Time away from the ring when he goes back to UFC will definitely help mend that relationship.
Then, and if the timing is right, Lesnar can return to the WWE once more next year to have a program for WrestleMania 35 if he wishes.
