Big things are expected of Juventus this season following the €100m arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.Having dominated Italian football since 2011/12, in which time they've won Serie A every single season, the Old Lady are now targeting Champions League glory. Not since 1995/96 have Juve won Europe's elite competition but with Ronaldo now in their ranks they've never had a better chance of ending that drought.Maxi Allegri certainly fancies their chances. According to the Juventus manager, a player of Ronaldo's quality and experience is exactly what they need to go all the way."Naturally, we have bigger ambitions of winning the Champions League than in previous years, just as we want the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana," he said recently."Ronaldo has above all brought experience at international level and is an extra motivation for the younger guys to aim higher.
"You don't win five Ballon d'Or trophies for nothing and you can see how hard he works to get there.
JUVE'S NEW STAR
"However, Real Madrid have won four of the last five editions of the Champions League and they did that through hard work.
"We've got to work, too, and this is the first time I've really seen the whole squad play together."
Ronaldo only recently joined his new teammates for pre-season training and made his Juventus debut on Sunday in the annual Villar Perosa friendly.
Every year Juventus' senior players take on the club's B team on a small pitch owned by the club's chairman, Andrea Agnelli, giving fans the chance to see the players up close.
Ronaldo took just eight minutes to open his account with a simple one-on-one finish, but the biggest talking point was how the game got abandoned in the 70th minute.
Fans swarmed the pitch with 20 minutes remaining to mob Ronaldo, which saw the referee blow the final whistle.
However, according to the Mirror, it's actually become tradition for Juventus supporters to charge onto the pitch at some point in the second half to end the match.
It was all relatively harmless as a result and just meant that Ronaldo had to pose for a few pictures before being escorted away by security.
