Rob Van Dam is an eternal fan favourite to wrestling fans - he was just so damn entertaining. His unorthodox style won millions of fans over around the turn of the millennium and as a pillar of ECW, he made the transition to the WWE in 2001 as part of the invasion storyline. While that angle wasn't nearly as successful as it could have been, RVD's popularity during that period was indisputable. Long after the storyline had finished, the former ECW man was well over with the fanbase, perhaps more than anyone who entered the WWE during that era.RVD's big break within the WWE came in 2006 when he finally won the WWE title from John Cena at ECW One Night Stand (which was ironically the second edition of One Night Stand), but being found with marijuana in his car less than a month later saw him drop the title sharpish. The 'One of a Kind' superstar would never hold the WWE title again and departed the company in 2007 and would join TNA in 2010.He did rejoin the WWE in 2013 for a spell until 2014, but he came up short against Alberto Del Rio in his pursuit of a world title and now, at the age of 47, he picks and chooses what dates he works for what companies. However, around the time the WWE decided to do the brand split again in 2016, reports suggested that the WWE had reached out to Van Dam, but they could not come to an agreement on money. When a fan asked RVD on Twitter on Sunday evening why he hadn't returned yet, it seems like the same problem persists:

Of course, RVD keeps himself in tremendous shape and he has always been very flexible and fit. Even at his age, he could come in and work some great matches for the company, but are they willing to pay him what he wants?

On top of that, would he be able to work the demanding WWE schedule? that's up for debate in itself. Would you like to see RVD in a WWE ring again? Let us know in the comments section below.
