Merseyside police tweet after seeing Salah footage

Salah, in order to try and make it look like he was busy, is seen on his phone while stuck in traffic.

The fans in the video ask the Egyptian superstar to open the window but he refuses to acknowledge them - presumably because he was driving at the time and knew he couldn’t pull over and sign autographs.

But his decision to use his mobile phone at the wheel means the footage was always going to be brought to the attention of police - and Merseyside Police have now issued the following tweet…

“We have been made aware of a video believed to show a footballer using a mobile phone whilst driving. This has been passed to the relevant department. Thanks for letting us know.”

It’s currently unclear whether Merseyside Police will decide to investigate the matter further or not.

The current penalty for using a phone while driving in the UK is six points and a £200 fine.
