Following his 44-goal haul during his debut season at Liverpool, Mohamed Salah was keen to show everyone that he was no ‘one-season wonder’ during the Premier League’s opening weekend.
And it took the Egyptian just 19 minutes of this season to get himself on the scoresheet during Liverpool’s 4-0 victory against West Ham on Sunday.
But after the match, Salah was involved in an incident with Liverpool fans that has been caught on camera.
Sitting in traffic in my car, a number of fans - included children - gathered near his vehicle and were asking for his autograph.
Salah seemingly refused to interact with the fans and, instead, decided to use his phone whilst at the wheel - something that the club have referred to the police.
A Liverpool FC spokesman said: "The club, after discussion with the player, have made Merseyside Police aware of the footage and the circumstances surrounding its capture.
"We have spoken to the player also and will deal with any follow-up internally.
"Neither the club or player will be making any further comment on this matter."
RIVAL FANS SLAM SALAH'S ATTITUDE
While the police will take care of that, many fans are slamming Salah for failing to give Liverpool fans a photo or an autograph.
Of course, Liverpool fans totally disagree with those suggestions that Salah isn’t a nice guy and have brought up articles about him ‘building a hospital and a school in his hometown Nagrig.’
And Salah has seemingly responded himself.
MO SALAH APPEARS TO RESPOND
He posted an Instagram story of him hugging a young Liverpool fan who invaded the pitch against West Ham at the weekend.
The boy ran straight up to Salah with the 26-year-old embracing him before having a quiet word in his ear and telling him to leave the pitch.
And Salah clearly posted an image of him with the pitch invader in response to those suggesting that he’s not a nice person and that he doesn’t have time for his fans.
Winding down your window and signing autographs and posing for pictures whilst driving a car probably isn’t the smartest idea.
Although neither is scrolling on your phone…
