There’s no doubt about it, the pressure is on Jurgen Klopp to win a trophy at Liverpool this season.

It’s coming up to three years since the German took over at Anfield and all he has to show for it is three runners-up medals.

He has certainly improved the squad immensely but that counts for nothing if you don't have any silverware to show for it.

Liverpool are getting closer to winning trophies, demonstrated by their magnificent run to the Champions League final last season.

But can they go one better this time around and win their sixth European Cup?

After finishing fourth in the Premier League last season - and UEFA deciding that fourth-place no longer needs to qualify - Liverpool will enter straight into the group stage.

But in which pot?

Well, that is still up in the air.

Liverpool are waiting for the result of Benfica’s clash against Fenerbahce to decide whether they will be in Pot 2 or Pot 3.

And it makes a big difference.

Benfica lead 1-0 from the first-leg and face a tough trip to Turkey for their second-leg.

And Liverpool fans should be desperately hoping that Fenerbahce can turn the tie around tonight.

WHY LIVERPOOL SHOULD WANT FENERBAHCE TO WIN

Why?

Well, these are the provisional if Liverpool are in Pot 2 and if they’re in Pot 3.

Provisional Champions League group draw pots - if Liverpool are Pot 2

Pot 1: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Lokomotiv Moscow

Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund, FC Porto, Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli, Tottenham Hotspur, Roma, Liverpool

Pot 3: Dinamo Kiev, Schalke, Lyon, Monaco, Salzburg, CSKA Moscow, PSV Eindhoven, Valencia

Pot 4: Viktoria Plzen, Celtic, Fenerbache, Club Brugge, Galatasaray, FK Astana, Inter Milan, Hoffenheim

Provisional Champions League group draw pots - if Liverpool are Pot 3

Pot 1: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Lokomotiv Moscow

Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund, FC Porto, Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Benfica, Napoli, Tottenham Hotspur, Roma

Pot 3: Liverpool, Dinamo Kiev, Schalke, Lyon, Monaco, Salzburg, CSKA Moscow, PSV Eindhoven

Pot 4: Valencia, Viktoria Plzen, Celtic, Club Brugge, Galatasaray, FK Astana, Inter Milan, Hoffenheim

As you can see, if Liverpool are Pot 2, they will avoid the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk, Benfica, Napoli and Roma. In replacement, they would face a Pot 3 side - Dinamo Kiev, Schalke, Lyon, Monaco, Salzburg, CSKA Moscow, PSV or Valencia.

Therefore, Liverpool fans will be hoping Fenerbahce can do them a favour tonight.
