Tom Brady is expected to play his first preseason game this year on Thursday when the New England Patriots participate in a Super Bowl LII rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, practice with his wide receivers ahead of the contest later this week has not been going well for the five-time Super Bowl winner, according to reports.

Despite being as successful as he is, it appears as though Brady can still get very easily annoyed by something very little, and he made sure his team knew about it in practice on Monday.

According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, after an incomplete pass, the Patriots quarterback asked for the ball back and then punted it into the stands.

Tyler Sullivan of 247 Sports noted that Brady’s receivers dropped what could have been easy catches, but newcomer Eric Decker was perhaps the worst of them all.

The veteran wideout, who was signed by the team this month, dropped the ball three times.

Brady finished practice with just 15 of his 28 pass attempts completed and was even intercepted once, so no wonder he was so frustrated and took his anger out on the ball.

Contract adjustment

The Patriots added $5 million in incentives to their quarterback's deal last week, while turning $10 million of his base salary to a signing bonus. This keeps his salary-cap charge at $22 million for 2018 while raising it to $27 million in 2019, the last year of the contract.

Brady, who turned 41 on earlier this month and is entering his 18th season in the league, has said recently that he wants to be with the Patriots for the next year and hopefully beyond.

He said per Mike Reiss of ESPN: "I've never talked about my contract, and that's never been the top priority for me. I love being here, this community, this organization.

"I love winning, and I love that my family has had a home for a long time. Those have been my priorities as long as I've been in this game.

"I certainly expect to be here next year and hopefully beyond. I have goals to play for a long time. I still love doing it. I still want to do it. But I'm also focused on what I need to do this year.

"It's a tough challenge, and it's a great challenge. I've loved it for a long time, and I still want to get out there and be the best I can be for our team."
