The spat between Jurgen Klopp and Sergio Ramos continues to rumble on.It’s been nearly three months since Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev and it seems that two of the game’s protagonists just aren’t ready to move on.Sergio Ramos certainly isn’t welcome in Liverpool anymore. The Spaniard’s actions in the final included causing the shoulder injury that ended Mohamed Salah’s match and clashing with Loris Karius, which resulted in the Liverpool ‘keeper suffering a concussion. It prompted a scathing assessment from Jurgen Klopp, who described Ramos as “ruthless” and “brutal” last week.“I do not expect that from him [Ramos], I only expect that he gives more thought to his assessment of certain situations,” Klopp said.“Many people will say that these things happen. But if that is the message we are sending to our children, that nothing is out of bounds and it’s all about winning, then I will be glad to leave this planet in 40 years."

Marcelo's reaction

Ramos wasn’t going to take such comments lying down and he responded on Tuesday ahead of Real Madrid’s clash against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup.

“I had no intention of holding Mohamed Salah’s arm, but he grabbed my arm first,” Ramos told reporters.

“If Jurgen Klopp wants to make it a reason to lose, this is not the first final he has lost.”

Woah. Ramos takes this round. He took a dig at Klopp's record in finals, which reads one win, six defeats.

Footage from the press conference shows what Marcelo, sitting next to Ramos, thought of his teammate’s comments.

The left-back Brazilian couldn’t resist a cheeky smile as the room took in Ramos’s words.

Quality.

This is hopefully the end of it.

Neither Klopp or Ramos have anything to gain from their remarks and everyone else has moved on from what happened in the final.

Liverpool are in a great position to repeat their heroics in Europe last season after spending more than £150 million in the transfer window.

As for Real Madrid, it will be very interesting to see how they fare under Julen Lopetegui and without Cristiano Ronaldo.
