Chelsea were in turmoil at the back end of last season.

Antonio Conte had managed to unsettle a number of Chelsea's stars.

Willian, Eden Hazard and David Luiz were just three names who had reportedly been unsettled by Antonio Conte's methods.

Willian even noted earlier this summer that there was 'no chance' he would have stayed at the club if Antonio Conte was still manager.

But, fortunately for Chelsea fans, Maurizio Sarri replaced Antonio Conte, and Willian, Hazard and Luiz have all decided to stay.

It seems Sarri is doing everything he can to eradicate the bad feeling left by Conte.

According to the Telegraph, the former Napoli boss has loosened a number of rules imposed by Conte in a bid to win his players over.

Upon arriving at the club, Conte created a rule that the squad must stay together at the Chelsea Harbour hotel on nights before they have an evening game at Stamford Bridge the following day.

This was a rule which was unpopular with many of the players.

But Sarri has taken steps to reverse this rule, and is now allowing players to stay at home and join up with their team-mates on matchday instead.

The second rule that Sarri has reversed surrounds Chelsea players' diets.

Conte was very strict on nutrition, with relatively little choice for the players.

But Sarri has now permitted a wider choice of food in the training ground canteen and also in hotels when they are away from home.

Sarri is hoping that these changes create a better atmosphere than that which existed in the previous ten months.

Well done, Maurizio. The tension surrounding Chelsea last season was plain to see from the outside looking.

Key changes needed to be made by Sarri in order to get Chelsea players on his side, and it seems he is doing his best to make sure that happens.
