Jorginho has made quite the impression at Chelsea since joining for £57m in July.

In pre-season the Italian looked solid and against Huddersfield over the weekend he dominated alongside the indefatigable N'Golo Kante.

Indeed, 94% pass completion and a cheeky penalty scored is a pretty good way to mark your debut for a new club.

Alan Shearer was certainly impressed by what he saw from Jorginho as he lauded Chelsea's new signing and Kante on Match of the Day.

"Jorginho and Kante, the first time they'd ever played together," began Shearer. "Once they got beyond the midfield there was lack of protection for the back three of Huddersfield.

"Kante finds himself in areas he normally wouldn't because Jorginho was sitting and he doesn't mind sitting.

"In fact he quite enjoys it. He picks the ball up and looks where Kante is (driving forward). They touch, they turn and they're into them again. Clever from Jorginho with the penalty too.

"I think you'll see more and more of that this season, so very promising signs for Chelsea."

At 26 years old Jorginho is experienced yet young enough to marshal Chelsea's midfield for years to come.

He has a big future ahead of him at Stamford Bridge and clearly he has his mother to thank for the footballing ability he's been blessed with.

Footage has emerged of Jorginho playing keepy-uppy with his mum and as you can see in the video below, she's actually very good.

She's so good, in fact, that Chelsea fans have been making the same joke that she's got a better touch than Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko, who recently joined AC Milan on loan.

Imagine being able to go to the beach with your mum for a friendly game of keepy-uppy. Clearly being good at football runs in the Jorginho family.

Here's a selection of funny tweets from Chelsea fans comparing Jorginho's mum to Lukaku and Bakayoko.
