Maurizio Sarri has a number of talented players at his disposal at Chelsea.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in world football, while Cesar Azpilicueta is a key component in Chelsea's defence.

Jorginho and N'Golo Kante form the basis of a strong midfield, while Eden Hazard is one of the best players in world football.

But who is their most important player?

Chelsea's correspondent for ESPN, Liam Twomey, has attempted to answer that question ahead of the 2018/19 season. You can view his whole list here:

Twomey has considered a number of factors in creating this list. It is not just about who he thinks is Chelsea's best player.

He writes: "Performance, potential, the ability to make an impact and influence the course of a game, other options in that area of the field, the ability or inability to replace them and market value have all played a part."

He's also omitted new signing Matteo Kovacic, as he is yet to make an appearance for the Blues.

Here's how he ranked Chelsea's top three players, with Jorginho being handed the top spot...

1) Jorginho

A surprising choice at number one. Twomey writes:  "No player is more important to the success or failure of Sarri's style at Chelsea. A month into his Blues career, he is already running this team."

2) N'Golo Kante

Twomey argued that Kante's absence from preseason highlighted his importance in Chelsea's midfield. "How he adapts to a more expansive role in the new system is a key question for Chelsea's season," he writes. "Judging by his goal against Huddersfield Town, the early signs are positive."

3. Eden Hazard

Controversially, Hazard is only ranked in third. "The best business of Chelsea's summer was keeping their star Belgian at Stamford Bridge," he writes. "He remains their most talented attacking player as well as their most reliable match-winner."

Interesting stuff. There's a lot of Chelsea fans who are bound to disagree, given how influential Hazard has been since joining the club in 2012.

Here's how Twomey ranked the rest of Chelsea's team.

4) Alvaro Morata

5) Kepa Arrizabalaga

6) Cesar Azpilicueta

7) David Luiz

8) Antonio Rudiger

9) Willian

10) Marcos Alonso

11) Pedro Rodriguez

12) Olivier Giroud

13) Cesc Fabregas

14) Ross Barkley

15) Ruben Loftus-Cheek
