WWE fans have really been enjoying Daniel Bryan's current WWE run ever since he announced his return to the ring before WrestleMania 34 earlier this year.

Now, he's on the brink of clashing with a longtime rival in the middle of the squared circle, as he will face The Miz in a match at SummerSlam this Sunday.

While this has been fantasy booking for WWE fans ever since the famous Talking Smack segment between The Miz and Bryan, The King of Beards himself has been butting heads with WWE's creative team.

During an interview with IGN for his 2K Showcase mode in WWE 2K19, Bryan talked about his relationship with WWE creative and how their decisions are affecting his goals in the company.

The former WWE Champion said that creating goals in the WWE can be difficult for him as he doesn't have control over a lot of things. Instead, he focuses on artistic goals for himself and his character.

He said: "So they're not along the lines of 'Okay, time to main event WrestleMania 35!' It's not stuff like that. Creating goals like that are very difficult in WWE and can often leave you disappointed because you don't have control over a lot of things.

"The one thing I do have control over is my performance. And so I have artistic goals I'm trying to reach and places I'd like to go with my wrestling and my character.

"And even that sometimes is going up against the creative machine and what they want for you vs. what you want for yourself.

"That's a constant whirlwind and back-and-forth trade-off and whatnot. So I do have those types of goals but they're not main eventing WrestleMania or winning the Rumble or things you don't have any say in."

Although it might not be what he wants, it's good to see that Bryan has come to terms with his position in the WWE, and this can only mean good things for WWE fans, as he will likely stay with the company for longer.
