A new era is dawning at Arsenal.

After 22 wonderful years at the helm, Arsene Wenger called time on his career with the Gunners.

Unai Emery was given the mandate of restoring a club that had begun to stagnate to former glories.

The exciting Spaniard spent the summer overhauling his newly inherited squad, bringing in the likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, Sokratis Popastathopolous and Bernd Leno.

After a few very disappointing seasons, Gunners fans were hopeful that this season could finally see them challenging amongst the big boys again.

However, that aforementioned new dawn suffered quite a set back when reigning champions Manchester City rolled into town.

Pep Guardiola’s silky side cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win, frightfully exposing all the work that Emery still needs to do at the Arsenal.

It was a massive reality check for anyone involved with the Gunners.

The north London side became the butt of many a joke towards the end of Arsene Wenger’s time in charge and fans would have been hoping that Emery’s arrival would herald the end of those difficult times.

However, after Sunday’s defeat, it looks like that time is not coming soon.

Neville ruins Arsenal fan

And it seems that one Arsenal fan in-particular learnt that the hard way, getting a lot more than he bargained for when replying to a tweet sent out by Gary Neville owned Salford City.

The fifth tier club tweeted about their upcoming game against Chesterfield when the fan attempted to take a cheeky pop at their ticket prices.

Neville was having none of it however, absolutely destroying the fan with a brutal reply about Arsenal.

Oh my.

Neville really held nothing back simply replying, “£70 to watch your pub team v city last Sunday.”

No need to ask what Gary made of Arsenal’s performance at the weekend, then.

Meanwhile, Anthony D might be taking sometime off of Twitter to tend to his burns.

Never take on Neville on Twitter Anthony, lesson learned.
