AJ Styles has only been in the WWE for just over two and a half years, but in that time, he has become the key part of SmackDown Live each and every week.During this time, he has been the WWE Champion for over 420 days. That means he's been WWE Champion for about 45% of the time which he has been with the company, which is pretty incredible. While his second reign as WWE Champion could come to an end this Sunday at SummerSlam, The Phenomenal One has already broken a WWE record on the blue brand, according to reports.According to AsukaNumberOne on Reddit, at 281 days, Styles' reign as WWE champion has surpassed JBLs, meaning that he is the longest reigning world champion to be exclusive to SmackDown. The Phenomenal One is certainly very deserving of this accolade, as he is producing some of the best wrestling in the ring that fans have seen from him in years.JBL even took to Twitter to congratulate Styles for beating his record that stood for 13 years.

He said: "My record has been broken and I Could not be more proud of ⁦@AJStylesOrg⁩ -a world-class individual and athlete, looking forward to watching this incredible performer Sunday at @WWE Summerslam."

The Phenomenal One's time as WWE Champion though could come to an end this Sunday however when he takes on longtime rival Samoa Joe at SummerSlam.

It's unlikely though that the end of his reign would see him pushed out of the WWE Championship picture as well as he has been one of the biggest draws to SmackDown since the brand split took place.

Styles and Joe are very much still in the early stages of their feud, so no matter how their match at WWE's biggest party of the summer unfolds this weekend, their rivalry shouldn't be coming to an end anytime soon.

WWE fans will still have plenty of shows and matches with The Phenomenal One in the WWE title picture.
