CJ McCollum is not a fan of the number of superstars the Golden State Warriors have assembled on their roster and hasn't been afraid to make his feelings public. The Portland Trail Blazers guard had Kevin Durant as a guest on his podcast recently and told the reigning two-time Finals MVP how he felt about him joining the Warriors in 2016 and their recent acquisition of DeMarcus Cousins. McCollum said he felt "hot" when he discovered that the center was going to become the fifth All-Star on the Dubs. The 26-year-old has been very active on social media during the offseason and has often spoken about his disdain for star players heading to Oakland. He even had a back-and-forth on Twitter with KD after the podcast aired as he called him "soft" for making the move from the Oklahoma City Thunder to Golden State.

Adding fuel to the fire

Just when things appeared to calm down, McCollum decided to revisit the situation by having another dig at the defending champions.

Appearing on Chinese TV, he said he would never join a super team like the Warriors in the way that both Durant and Cousins have and called it "disgusting".

"I would never do anything of that nature," McCollum said on CCTV Sports. "I think that's disgusting. I'm not built like those guys. I was raised differently."

When asked if super teams are the future of the NBA, he replied: "I think some players will take that route, but most guys have too much pride, want to really win on their own or under certain organisations, and aren't just going to jump the bandwagon."

His comments unsurprisingly made headlines and he took to Twitter to try and clarify that he has no problems with the men from the Bay Area.

But it still led to angry responses from Warriors fans on social media as they questioned why he was developing a salty attitude towards their team.

One fan simply told McCollum to "Win a playoff game then talk" and his response sent Twitter crazy.

Addressing the fan by name, the shooting guard replied by saying, "I'm trying Jennifer".

With the internet being as quick as it is, this became an instant meme as fans weighed in and had fun with it.

Even McCollum saw the funny side and requested that somebody send him an "I'm trying Jennifer" t-shirt.

Fans quickly started posting t-shirt designs with the words on it and it truly went viral on Wednesday night.

As they say, the internet remains undefeated.
