Anderson Silva is still eyeing a fight with Georges St-Pierre.

Make no mistake about it though, former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is having a rough time.

GSP overcame all of the odds in this fight as he recovered from ACL surgery and took 4 years away from the sport as well.

It was a storybook night for the UFC star, who picked up a third-round submission win over Michael Bisping in the main event of the UFC 217 PPV (pay-per-view) event in New York at Madison Square Garden to win the UFC middleweight title.

This win earned him the right to be called a two-division champion.Plans for St-Pierre’s next fight are on hold as the former UFC middleweight champion is suffering from colitis and will be out of action indefinitely, according to UFC President Dana White.

GSP’s Brazilian jiu-jitsu coach, John Danaher, has gone on record by stating that St-Pierre would need time to decide if he would return to the Octagon in what he described as a “life-changing decision.”

He would go on to add that the reaction that the former champion had to his medications would play a big part in the decision.

Silva was in hot water but got out of it after proving his innocence. If you recall, Silva was pulled from his bout against Kelvin Gastelum at the UFC Fight Night 122 event on November 25, 2017, at Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China on the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass, after he was flagged due to a potential U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) violation.

This bout would have marked Silva’s (34-8 MMA, 17-4 UFC) first appearance in the world famous Octagon since February when he competed against Derek Brunson at UFC 208.

Silva is slated to make his return to the Octagon this November and he wants a big fight to go along with his return. He made it known in a recent interview that he still wants to fight the former UFC middleweight and welterweight champion in a super fight as he wants to get back inside of the Octagon as soon as possible.

"Yeah, absolutely. Georges is the great name in Canada; I’m the big name in Brazil. I believe everybody in this sport [would] like to see Georges and Anderson Silva in a super fight,” Silva told Inquisitr in a recent interview.

“Right now, I don’t think it’s a win-win situation for me, because I have a lot more to lose than to win right now fighting against Anderson Silva,” GSP said.
