We got our first look at the post-Ronaldo Real Madrid on Wednesday night as the reigning European Champions took on Europa League winners, and fierce local rivals, Atletico Madrid. As it turns out, things are pretty close between the two Spanish clubs.Diego Costa fired his side into the lead inside a minute with a brilliant solo goal that was pure Costa - bulldozing defenders and leathering it into the back of the net.Goals from Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos put Real in front, only for Costa to send things to extra-time at 2-2.It was there that Atletico took over thanks to goals from Saul Niguez and Koke - the former scoring a peach of a volley. And so Atletico took home the first piece of European silverware of the season with a 4-2 win over the fiercest rivals.Although, thanks to Antoine Griezmann, that wasn't all the players got for their victory.Taking a page out of US sports, the Atletico number seven had specially-crafted rings made for each of his teammates, reports AS.The Frenchman showed them off on his Instagram Story - gold, diamond-encrusted rings, showcasing the Atletico badge.

It's certainly a nice gesture from Girezmann, although perhaps a bit much? This is just the European Super Cup, it's not like they've just historically lifted the Champions League.

But then this is Griezmann we're talking about. He does like to do things with his own little spin more than most, such as releasing a thirty-minute documentary/interview to reveal that he's not going anywhere.

Or calling himself Uruguayan because he knows some Uruguayans.

Or celebrating a goal in the World Cup final with a Fortnite dance.

He's a pretty unique footballer, really, and one that does at least seem genuine in what he says and does - perhaps the rings are a little over the top, but it's simply his way of doing things.

They did win a trophy, after all.
