If there's one superstar currently on the WWE roster which fans are desperate to see the company lock down to a new deal, it's Daniel Bryan.

Bryan will be battling his longtime rival in The Miz inside the squared circle this Sunday at SummerSlam in what could be one of his final matches in the WWE.

Beyond this weekend, however, his future with the WWE is uncertain, as he is yet to sign a new deal with the company despite his current one being close to expiration.

Speaking on Sam Roberts’ Wrestling Podcast to promote Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, via Wrestling News, The King of Beards spoke about his contract status with the WWE and how close he is to signing a new deal.

Bryan stated that it's very likely that he'll sign a new deal with the WWE and that he could be signing this new deal by as early as the end of this week.

He said: “I think at this point it would be 90-plus percent. It’s very likely I’ll re-sign with WWE. The reality is that's the probability.

"I have not re-signed yet but it could happen as soon as the end of this week or it could be a couple more weeks. It's very likely.”

Bryan also mentioned that on his new deal, he doesn't want to be wrestling on a full-time schedule so that he can be home with his family, while also stating he has no interest in wrestling 200 matches a year.

He said: "I don't wanna do a full schedule and I think WWE has been very gracious in working with me to not do a complete schedule."

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via Cageside Seats, Bryan and WWE have 'reached an agreement on most of the key issues' regarding his new deal with the company.

WWE fans will be hoping Bryan sticks around with the WWE for a little while longer and signs a new deal as there are so many great feuds for him to still take part in.
