Luiz Felipe Scolari arrived at Chelsea in 2008 with a lofty reputation.

A lot was expected of the Brazilian manager upon taking the Chelsea job.

The west London outfit had just finished second in the Premier League, and had finished runners up in the League Cup, FA Community Shield Runners-up and UEFA Champions League in the same season.

It was hoped he would bring Premier League glory back to Stamford Bridge once again.

But, things didn't materialise had planned. Scolari spent just seven months in the job before he was sacked.

He left the club with the club fourth in the Premier League, 10 points behind leaders Manchester United.

Scolari made five signings during his spell at Chelsea, but that did not stop him from being sacked.

Take a look at how their careers panned out below:

DECO

Scolari's first signing as Chelsea manager was to raid Barcelona for Portuguese playmaker, Deco.

The midfielder was past his best on his Chelsea arrival, and ended up making 57 appearances and scoring six goals in his two year spell.

He left Chelsea in 2010 and spent three seasons at Fluminense before retiring in 2012.

FABIO PAIM

There were very high expectations for Paim upon signing from Sporting Lisbon on loan.

But the youngster failed to make a single appearance at Chelsea, and has been at 14 different clubs since leaving the London outfit.

He now plays for Leixoes SC's B team. Talk about a fall from grace.

MINEIRO

This has to be one of the most bizarre signings in Chelsea's recent history.

Signing for Chelsea at the age of 33, Mineiro made just two appearances in his one season at the club.

He rejoined upon leaving west London, before announcing his retirement in 2012 after a spell with TuS Koblenz.

GOKHAN TORE

Tore signed for Chelsea shortly after his 17th birthday.

He failed to make any appearances for the club and left in 2011 - although he has enjoyed some success since.

The German born player has represented Turkey on 26 occasions, and currently finds himself plying his trade at Besiktas.

RICARDO QUARESMA

Another player who flopped badly during his time at Chelsea.

Quaresma would make just four league appearances for the club before returning to Inter Milan.

The 34-year-old now finds himself at Besiktas after spells at Al-Ahli and Porto.
