Naby Keita had Liverpool fans buzzing after his Premier League debut last week.

Liverpool were fantastic all across the pitch and ran away 4-0 victors against West Ham, but it was hard to ignore the performance of the new man in their midfield.

Keita caused the Hammers problems all afternoon, playing a key role in the build-up to Mohamed Salah's opening strike and providing creativity from deep all game long.

Jamie Redknapp noted after the opening day performance: “We've waited almost a year to see Naby Keita in the Premier League but boy was he worth the wait.

"I knew he was an aggressive player but by taking the No.8 shirt which has been vacant since Steven Gerrard left Liverpool three years ago, Keita proved before a ball was even kicked that he does not shy away from a challenge.

Keita impressing so far

“He is unlike any Liverpool midfielder in the Premier League era. Keita is a pocket rocket brimming with pace and energy but also blessed with technical ability."

High praise indeed and those associated with Liverpool were equally impressed with his performances in pre-season.

In fact, Keita has now pulled on the famous red jersey eight times and it's given supporters plenty of opportunity to form an opinion on him.

The video goes into different aspects of his performances and it's fair to say Keita has been fantastic across the board.

Some of the most interesting clips come from the West Ham game itself where Keita plays off Firmino - who is often tracking back to defend - and uses that to find space for himself.

When he is playing further up the pitch, this relationship with the most defensive member of Liverpool's back three will be crucial in ensuring they always have a launch pad to counterattack.

And it works both ways, too, with Keita showing an incredible knack for tracking back and carrying out defensive duties when needed.

All in all, like the video shows, Keita has settled in superbly at Liverpool and looks to bring an extra dimension to their football this season.

Considering the Reds went all the way to the Champions League final with him and his fellow signings, there is reason to be excited at Anfield right now.

Crystal Palace are the next team on the radar and as far as Keita is concerned, it's a case of more of the same.
