Arsenal were left to rue several missed opportunities in the first half as they succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Chelsea.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi were all guilty of squandering glorious chances in the opening 45 minutes.
Arsenal did really well to be level at half-time - they were 2-0 down after 20 minutes - but they should have been ahead.
Unai Emery’s side wasn’t as positive in the second half, much to the bemusement of the club’s fans, and Chelsea made their pressure pay when Marcos Alonso scored a late winner.
It means Arsenal have lost their opening two matches of the new Premier League season.
That isn’t a major concern. Manchester City and Chelsea are impressive teams.
But the Gunners’ start increases the pressure on Arsenal to pick up points quickly, starting against West Ham next Saturday.
Guendouzi reacts to Aubameyang's miss
The first of Aubameyang’s two disappointing misses came just 52 seconds before Morata doubled Chelsea’s lead.
Matteo Guendouzi’s pass sliced through Chelsea’s defence and Hector Bellerin pulled the ball back for Aubameyang.
But the Gabon international skied his effort over the bar from nine yards out.
It wasn’t shown on the television broadcast at the time but Guendouzi’s reaction, later shown on Match of the Day, summed it up.
The 19-year-old fell to his knees and slammed the ground in anger.
“It’s good to see, someone who’s disappointed like that,” Ian Wright said on Match of the Day.
The Arsenal legend responded when Aubameyang owned up to his miss on Twitter.
“Today I missed, tomorrow must be better!!”, he wrote.
Wright responded: “I still love you 😍”.
There were plenty of positives for Emery to take from the match - the fact that they created so many good opportunities in the first half is a start.
On another day, there’s no way Aubameyang misses from close range.
And Guendouzi deserves a lot of credit for another impressive performance.
Many thought that the youngster would be made to look like a novice against Man City and Chelsea.
Instead, he was among Arsenal’s best players in both matches.
