WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV set the bar last night that SummerSlam will have to meet tonight with some incredible matches.

One of the solid matches on the night at the Barclays Center on Saturday night was EC3 vs Velveteen Dream.

Despite this being one of his first high-profile NXT matches, EC3 lost to Dream when he hit the Death Valley Driver on him on the ring apron set up an elbow drop.

EC3 is still yet to pick up a high-profile victory in NXT, but he still left the Barclays Center last night with a gift.

During his match with Dream, EC3 was busted open around his eye. It's unclear exactly how this happened, but luckily he was able to continue the match.

Swollen Eye

Following the conclusion of the match, the former TNA world champion took to social media to show off how badly his eye was swelling up due to being busted open.

It definitely looks like EC3 had a rough night on Saturday against Dream, one which he won't be forgetting anytime soon, as he'll have a reminder of it every single time he looks in the mirror over the next couple of days.

EC3's NXT Future

It will be interesting to see as well what plans WWE has for EC3 in NXT who doesn't seem to be having a great run in the promotion so far since he is yet to pick up a big win.

In a backstage interview after TakeOver, EC3 may have set up his next feud in the promotion after making certain comments about Lars Sullivan.

EC3 blamed Sullivan for attacking Aleister Black during the backstage segment that was used to write him off due to a legitimate injury.

Sullivan’s “Twitter attorney” William Christensen took to Twitter to call out EC3 for these blatant accusations.

He said: "William Christensen here once again. It was just brought to Lars' attention that EC3 said Mr. Sullivan's name in vain. He'd like to remind him that while he appreciates the free promotion, it would be in Mr. 3's best interest to never mention Lars' name ever again. Thank you- WC."

So it looks like EC3 will be facing off against Sullivan soon, but this very well could be another feud which he comes out of as the loser due to how some WWE officials see Lars as the future of the promotion.
