Gary Waddock saw his Wycombe side battle to their fourth straight away point of the season on his return to the EBB Stadium, as they drew 0-0 with Aldershot.
The Shots should have scored in the opening five minutes, when slick interplay between John Halls and Danny Hylton on the right saw Ben Harding fire tamely at Nikki Bull from just inside the area.
Dave Winfield almost justified his role as pantomime villain as one of seven returnees to the Rec when his free header in the six-yard box skewed just wide on 35 minutes.
Halls came close twice just after the hour, when a 25-yard free-kick found the top of the net before a curling effort from just outside the box took the paint off the left-hand post.
The Chairboys endured a late onslaught which saw Hylton's header come off the bar from a Jamie Vincent cross with six minutes remaining, but Wycombe held on to give Waddock a share of the spoils.
